If you live in northern virginia or maryland this is the time of year to start looking for carpet beetles.

Carpet beetles vary in color based on their species and maturity. They may look mottled with black brown and white or be solid black depending on the species. Their larvae are grublike and covered with hairs. Carpet beetles like the essential oils we leave behind.
